In spite of the difficulties in Al-Qamishli, the children attending the Yeprat Armenian Kindergarten of Al-Qamishli are participating in our pan-Armenian program. The Armenian community of Al-Qamishli has always prepared to commemorate the anniversary of the Armenian Genocide, and the Centennial of the Armenian Genocide is no exception. The members of the community also participated in the pan-Armenian movement “Millions of children were not born as a result of the Armenian Genocide”. The children took photos near the Armenian Genocide monument placed in the yard of the local prelacy and posted them on the Internet.

The monument was built in 1975 by Hovsep Pchakjian and under the sponsorship of the Diocese of the Armenian Church of Aleppo and Mrs. Georgette Kasparian.

We call on all Armenian communities to have the children of their communities join this movement. The children need to take photos near a monument to the victims of the Armenian Genocide with this sign (click here to download) and send the photos to hayernaysor@gmail.com.
