As we approach the 100^th anniversary of the Armenian Genocide, the RA Ministry of Diaspora is carrying out a special program called “Give a Happy New Year” at the initiative of the “Hayern Aysor” electronic newspaper and in association with the Center for Coordination of Syrian-Armenians’ Issues NGO.

In the first stage of the program (“100 Celebrities for 100 Syrian-Armenian Children”), Armenia’s 100 celebrities have prepared a symbolic number of 100 traditional New Year’s gifts for 100 Syrian-Armenian children, as well as 100 Ukrainian-Armenian children having settled in the suburbs of Yerevan and in regions across the country.

The program is supported by Jambo exotic park-restaurant, which will organize a New Year’s event for the children and the celebrities participating in the program.

Taking into consideration the great interest that Armenian society has shown in the program and the large number of children, a decision has been made to carry out the second stage for another 100 Syrian-Armenian and Iraqi-Armenian children, engaging international and pan-Armenian organizations, non-governmental organizations, Armenia’s enterprises, as well as individual benefactors as donators. The New Year’s event in the second stage will be held at Play City.

Another stage of the program will be held for the children of Syrian-Armenian and Iraqi-Armenian families living in the Darbnik village of Ararat region.
