On August 29, RA Minister of Diaspora Hranush Hakobyan received representatives of the Armenian community of the Syrian district of Qamishli, including doctors Zareh Simonian, Serop Bako Aziz, Haiganoush Simonian, as well as Vardkes Geondjian and Yervand Khachatrian.

During the meeting, the sides discussed issues related to the Armenians in Syria, particularly the problems facing Armenians in Kamishli, the necessary steps for helping the Armenians of Kamishli settle in the Homeland and the implementation of the New Aleppo housing project.

The sides also discussed the Qamishli-Armenians’ participation in the 5^th Armenia-Diaspora Conference, upcoming events, as well as future actions and joint programs aimed at supporting the Syrian-Armenians.
