On August 3, the RA Minister of Diaspora Hranush Hakobyan received the delegation of Central Bureau of the Armenian General Physical Education (Training) Union led by President of Bureau Garnik Mkrtchyan. Minister Hranush Hakobyan and President of the Central Bureau of A.G.Ph.E.U Garnik Mkrtchyan signed Memorandum of Cooperation between the RA Ministry of Diaspora and A.G.Ph.E.U.

The Minister rated high the efficient cooperation with the Armenian General Physical Education (Training) Union and stated that through the last 5 years the parties have been actively cooperated. By signature of the Memorandum, legal basis will be established for the cooperation. Hranush Hakobyan stated that, in compliance with the assignment by the President of the Republic of Armenia, i.e. to intensify the cooperation with pan-Armenian organizations, the Ministry of Diaspora upgrades the cooperation with one of the largest pan-Armenian organizations.

Rated high the perspectives for development of the Armenian-Diaspora partnership, enhancement and enlargement of the role and participation of the Armenian youth in the partnership, the parties reached an agreement on developing and jointly implementing sports-cultural, educational-training and military-patriotic programs and initiatives in the RA, Artsakh and Diaspora, and assisting in the organization work for the scouting.

In the first stage of the cooperation, the organization of regional Spartakiada Games, contests, gatherings in frame of the 100^th anniversary of the Armenian Genocide was particularly prioritized.

During the meeting, measures aiming at promotion of preservation and dissemination of the mother tongue through all the pan-Armenian initiatives were discussed. Minister Hranush Hakobyan presented the Ministry’s initiatives in that regard.

At the end of the meeting, the members of A.G.Ph.E.U  watched a video film on the programs of the RA Ministry of Diaspora.

The Armenian General Physical Education Union and Scouts Organization was established in 1918 in Konstantynopol. The goals of the union is giving sound physical education to Armenian individual, through saturating his mind and heart with true sports spirit, teaching him being brave, lawful and patriotic, developing in him the sense of responsibility and honor.

The Residence of A.G.Ph.E.U Central Bauru is located in Lebanon. It has 105 branches in all Armenian communities around the world.

Note that this year the 10th Anniversary A.G.Ph.E.U Pan-Armenian scouting will take place.
