On Apr. 22, RA Acting Minister of Diaspora Hranush Hakobyan received principal of the Armenian Evangelical College in Beirut Zaven Messerlian.

During the meeting, the acting minister praised the role and active efforts of Lebanese-Armenians in the country’s social, political and cultural life and their relations with the homeland.

The sides also discussed issues on preservation of the Armenian identity and attached importance to the programs for preservation of the Western Armenian language.

Mrs. Hranush Hakobyan mentioned that the Armenian Evangelical College in Beirut makes a great contribution to culture and education within the Lebanese-Armenian community and the fact that for more than 90 years, it has been able to educate several Armenians who have gone on to make their contributions to the advancement of their community and the partnership with the Homeland.

Zaven Messerlian expressed gratitude to the acting minister for the warm reception and effective cooperation and voiced hope that like every year, the Lebanese-Armenian community would show active participation in the programs and events organized by the Ministry of Diaspora this year as well.
