The Syrian-Armenians were the ones who came up with the idea of creating the New Aleppo district and selected the venue for it, and more than 600 Syrian-Armenian families have expressed the desire to obtain homes in that district. The issues related to free allocation of land parcels (nearly 5 ha) and planning have been solved by the assignment of the President of the Republic of Armenia. A fundraiser has been launched, and the Center for Coordination of Syrian-Armenians’ Issues NGO has opened bank accounts in order to make the homes more affordable for the Syrian-Armenians. As a result of negotiations led by RA Minister of Diaspora Hranush Hakobyan, the late President of Grand Holding Hrant Vardanyan had donated USD 100,000, which has been transferred to the NGO’s bank account and is the only large donation. Once again, we call on everyone to make a contribution to the construction of the New Aleppo district.
