2016 “Diaspora” Summer School Program: Diaspora Armenian teachers meet with Nazik Harutyunyan
On July 15, the participants of the Training Course for Teachers of Armenian Language and Literature and Organizers of Education (part of the “Diaspora” Summer School Program of the RA Ministry of Diaspora) had a meeting with Head of the Chair of Pedagogy at Yerevan State University, Doctor of Pedagogical Sciences Nazik Harutyunyan at Yerevan State University. Nazik Harutyunyan is also the correspondent for the course on organization of education.
As reported Hayern Aysor, in the beginning, Nazik Harutyunyan gave her welcoming remarks in which she expressed her gratitude to the Diaspora Armenian teachers for their pro-national activities and their efforts aimed at preserving the Armenian identity of Armenian children abroad. Whereas it is difficult to organize education in Armenia, it is more difficult abroad.
In her speech, Nazik Harutyunyan added that she had been quite involved in the issues related to Armenian education abroad and was aware of the problems facing one-day and daily Armenian schools, stating that one-day schools face bigger problems due to lack of time.
Harutyunyan also touched upon the issue of creating a unified textbook and said it was practically impossible since the communities and their demands vary.
Nazik Harutyunyan attached importance to the role of education and promised to help the teachers with organization, management and consulting.
During a question-and-answer session, the teachers had the opportunity to ask their questions of concern.
At the end, Nazik Harutyunyan wished that the teachers became the strong bridge that would link the Diaspora to Armenia.
