RA Minister of Diaspora Hranush Hakobyan received on-duty member of the ARF-D Syria Central Committee Garo Youzbashian, member of the Committee, Head of the Divan of the Armenian Prelacy of the Aleppo Diocese Krikor Doungazian and member of the Central Committee, Dr. Nerses Sarkisian.

The sides discussed the current state of affairs in Syria, the developments that have been taking place over the past three years and the dynamics, and in that context, the losses and problems of the Syrian-Armenian community and the programs and events aimed at solving those problems.

Minister Hranush Hakobyan praised the efforts of dedicated religious and mundane leaders and particularly the attending guests and their heroic deeds that have helped the Syrian-Armenian community remain self-organized, united and continue to survive the war and protect the community’s infrastructures. The minister attached importance to the great and self-dedicated efforts of teachers and organizers of education for keeping the Armenian communities viable.

Minister Hranush Hakobyan also talked about the activities that the Armenian government has carried out to solve the social, health-related, educational and other issues concerning Syrian-Armenians who have settled in Armenia.

The minister mentioned that the Ministry of Diaspora cares for and consistently tries to help every Syrian-Armenian who addresses the Ministry of Diaspora.
