“My club, my space” Program kicks off

From April 4 to 14, 54 representatives of youth non-governmental organizations of Armenia, Georgia, Poland, Ukraine, Moldova, Romania, Lithuania, Belarus, Turkey and Hungary will come together to participate in the “My club, my space” Youth Exchange Program, which is carried out by the Federation of Youth Club of Armenia (FYCA) as part of the EU Youth in Action Programme.

The goal of the “My club, my space” Program is to provide the leaders of youth clubs of different countries with the opportunity to enhance their skills, become familiar with the ideology of the EU Youth in Action Programme and ERASMUS PLUS, encourage youth initiatives, enhance leadership skills and create professional and non-professional youth clubs by consolidating different youth people around a common goal.

“The idea was born a long time ago. There are youth clubs in all the participating countries, as well as organizations connecting those clubs to each other. As Armenia’s largest youth organization, the Federation of Youth Clubs of Armenia and its European partnering organizations created the “My club, my space” Program to find out how comfortable youth feel within different clubs in countries across Europe, what opportunities they have to express themselves and to what extent the government encourages these initiatives,” said President of the Federation of Youth Clubs of Armenia Atom Mkhitaryan in his opening remarks.

During the program, the participants will discuss youth employment, the youth’s rights, youth initiatives and mobility, as well as their visions for social life. The representatives of youth organizations from ten European countries will become familiar with the youth policy in Armenia, meet with experts and representatives of well-known youth organizations and will visit youth clubs in Armenia’s provinces. At the same time, they will be introduced to Armenia’s history and culture spanning millennia and will present their countries and traditions.

The program will provide youth with the opportunity to work together and learn from each other, as well as develop and go on to implement other programs in relation to international cooperation between youth clubs.
