Event dedicated to 145th anniversary of Hovhannes Tumanyan held at primary school N 19 of Gyumri

Each word in Tumanyan’s works opens a new world…This is what guided the students of primary school N 19 of Gyumri as they spoke in the Armenian spoken by the folk in a play that was presented as part of the “Our Greats” Program of the RA Ministry of Diaspora and served as a response to the ?call’ of the ministry.
In the play, the actors praise diligence and the right way of living. They also teach and warn that in life there are many idles (“anban huri” in Armenian) that find their “happiness” on different routes and laugh at the world like Tumanyan’s character Nazar.
Hovhannes Tumanyan lives in our memories as the ?Poet of All Armenians’.
The stage looked like a scene from a fairy tale, and the students knew Tumanyan’s life and career very well. The event included a presentation of Tumanyan’s fairy tale “Anban Huri”. With their artistic performance and the dialect of Tumanyan, the students took the audience to the world of Tumanyan with its marvelous gorges in Lori, the sound of the Debed River and the majesty of Mount Chatindad. Everyone understood that “Tumanyan is the ?Ararat that we can’t reach’ in the new space’ where my soul ?wanders’ divinely…
Let us remind that the events dedicated to great Armenian poet Hovhannes Tumanyan are part of the events included in the “Our Greats” Program of the RA Ministry of Diaspora in 2014.
