GIZ delegates visit Ministry of Diaspora

On June 26, Minister of Diaspora Mkhitar Hayrapetyan received the delegation of the German Society for International Cooperation (GIZ), including Deputy Ambassador of the Federal Republic of Germany Klaus Wendelberger, Country Director of GIZ in Armenia Anne Kempa, Regional Director of the Program for Economic and Social Participation of Internally Displaced Persons and Vulnerable Groups of Population in the South Caucasus in Receiving Communities Frederique Rochovansky, Team Leader Armenia of the GIZ Private Sector Development and Technical Vocational Education and Training South Caucasus Programme Wilhelm Hugo and program expert Karine Simonyan.

The goal of the meeting was to present the Program for Economic Integration of Syrian-Armenians, funded by the Government of the Federal Republic of Germany and carried out by the GIZ, as well as issues related to ongoing cooperation between the Ministry of Diaspora and the GIZ within the scope of the Program.

Greeting the guests, Minister Mkhitar Hayrapetyan attached importance to cooperation with international, charitable and pan-Armenian organizations and their involvement in the solutions to the key issues of Syrian-Armenians.

Anne Kempa congratulated the Minister and wished him success and presented the direction of the organization’s activities, upcoming programs and the perspectives for future cooperation. The other members of the delegation talked about various sectors for support to Syrian-Armenians, attaching special importance to educational programs and economic integration.

The steps taken to solve the social and economic issues of Syrian-Armenians, as well as the priorities and challenges were touched upon during the conversation, and importance was attached to the unified strategy, coordinated tasks and active cooperation of all the organizations.
