Teachers of Perm’s Mesrop Mashtots Armenian Sunday school hosted at the RA Ministry of Diaspora

On July 28, teachers of the Mesrop Mashtots Armenian Sunday School of the Russian city of Perm, who are participating in the “Diaspora” Summer School Program, were hosted at the Ministry of Diaspora of the Republic of Armenia.

Deputy Minister of Diaspora Serzh Srapionyan conveyed the welcoming remarks of Minister Hranush Hakobyan and particularly stated the following: “This year, the Armenian Sunday School of Perm celebrated its 15th anniversary. Throughout the years, the School has become a unique center for preservation of the Armenian identity. Thanks to its patriotic and knowledgeable teachers, the Armenian language, songs and dances have been preserved and have flourished, national values have been inseminated in the young generation, and recognizing the Armenian nation and recognizing the homeland have become priority objectives.”

By the order of the Minister of Diaspora of the Republic of Armenia, the School’s director and several teachers were granted medals and certificates as a token of high appreciation of their contributions to the Armenian education and upbringing of Armenian children growing up abroad.

Deputy Minister of Diaspora Serzh Srapionyan granted the Gold Medal of the RA Ministry of Diaspora to Principal of the Mesrop Mashtots Armenian Sunday School of Perm Jasmena Hayrapetyan for her great success in providing the new generation of Armenians with an Armenian upbringing in the Diaspora and for her great contributions to the preservation of the Armenian identity. Zoya Vardanyan, one of the teachers, received the “Ambassador of the Mother Language” Medal of the RA Ministry of Diaspora for her remarkable contributions to the preservation of the purity of the Armenian language in the Diaspora, while teachers Anna Hayrapetyan, Taguhi Grigoryan, Nina Vardanyan, Alyona Harutyunyan, Armenuhi Abroyan, Lilit Arsenyan and Anahit Nalbandyan received certificates.

Expressing gratitude for the high appreciation, Jasmena Hayrapetyan stated that the Armenian community and school of Perm were one of the very first to start cooperating with the RA Ministry of Diaspora and participate in all the programs of the Ministry every year. “We will continue to work in a way that will make you feel proud of us,” the Principal of the Armenian Sunday school of Perm said.
