Fr. Friar Shnorhk Baloian: “We serve God, the church and the people”

On July 17, RA Minister of Diaspora Hranush Hakobyan received representative of the St. Hakobyants Depository of Manuscripts in Jerusalem, Fr. Friar Shnorhk Baloian.

Greeting the guest, the Minister attached importance to preservation of the Armenian Church, community and school in Jerusalem.

Fr. Shnorhk expressed gratitude for the cordial reception, presented the news about the community and touched upon the issues of the Depository. Fr. Shnorhk stated that all 4,000 manuscripts have been recorded, described and examined thanks to Archbishop Norayr Bogharian. The Depository of Manuscripts has received a digitizing device as a gift and will soon start digitizing the manuscripts. If possible, the Depository would like to expand the premises of the Depository of Manuscripts.
