2017 “Ari Tun” Program: Teachers of Armenian Language Course on the participating “pupils”
Armenian is the only language to speak to God. Armenian is a splendid language, and those who study it will be paid abundantly.
George Gordon Byron
July 3rd marked the end of the Armenian Language Course for the participants of the 2nd stage of the 2017 “Ari Tun” Program of the RA Ministry of Diaspora.
According to Hayern Aysor, the group of young Armenians from Moscow, whose teacher was Lusine Hayriyan, stood out from the other groups with the studious participants who didn’t spare any effort to understand and master the lessons. Some of the young participants fulfilled their desire to learn the Armenian alphabet and completely mastered it, while others learned the spelling rules of contemporary Armenian.
Director of “Veratsnund” Armenian Sunday School of Moscow Shoghik Pahlevanyan expresses her deep gratitude to the parents of the “pupils” of the class composed of the participants of the “Ari Tun” Program from Samara, Ufa, Surgut, Tver, Minsk, Rostov, Saint Petersburg, Omsk, Krasnoyarsk, Ivanovo and Akhaltskha for raising such children and providing them with an Armenian education, and this was brilliantly reflected in the family tree that they drew. Armenia was the root of the tree, and they were the branches and leaves. Thirteen of the participants learned the Armenian alphabet and promised that they would try to make sure their family tree grew bigger so that the nation would grow in number.
In five days, the participants from Hungary managed to master the Armenian alphabet and learned conversational Armenian. Let us add that Mariam Sargsyan became the first Armenian language teacher for the seven young Armenians from Hungary. It was a joy to see that the Armenians boys and girls from Turkey knew the alphabet and were simply introduced to the peculiarities of Eastern Armenian.
The young Georgian-Armenians were interested in Armenian history. So, teacher Lena Tatosyan spiced up the Armenian language lessons with references to the memorable pages in the history of the Armenian people. The other group of Georgian-Armenians, whose teacher was Gaiane Barseghyan, improved their knowledge of the diphthongs, syntax and the verbs in Armenian since they had command of Armenian.
Teacher Ani Khalatyan said she taught Armenian in theory and practice.
Head of the Department of All-Armenian Programs at the RA Ministry of Diaspora Gagik Gyanjumyan visited the participants of this stage, who directly and sincerely answered Gyanjumyan’s questions and said they were grateful for learning the Armenian alphabet and enriching their knowledge.
