Member of Armenian Society of Los Angeles visits the RA Ministry of Diaspora
On November 7, RA Minister of Diaspora Hranush Hakobyan received member of the Board of Trustees of the Armenian Society of Los Angeles Tomik Alexanian.
Greeting the guest, Minister Hranush Hakobyan attached importance to the organization’s pro-national activities and noted the highly praiseworthy activities that the Society has carried out over the past couple of years.
During the meeting, the sides touched upon the current issues facing Armenians, including Armenia’s economic development, the Artsakh issue and the issues of Syrian-Armenians. They also discussed future cooperation and organizational issues and indicated future actions.
Tomik Alexanian has been an active member of several Armenian organizations, including the Davitian & Mariamian Educational Foundation. He has also been a member and vice-president of the Armenian General Benevolent Union (2008-15) and chairman of the Hayastan All-Armenian Fund U.S. Western Region affiliate.
Alexanian has also been co-founder of the board of the Armenian-American Republican Party. He is also a member of the Armenian American Business Council and one of the founders of the “Hye Zinvor” (Armenian Soldier) Charitable Foundation.
Currently, he is a member of the Board of Trustees of the Armenian Society of Los Angeles and holds the office of executive chairman of the Armenian Society of Los Angeles.
The telethon organized by Barev Armenian television program of Los Angeles helped raise $380,000. Tomik Alexanian also came to Armenia to provide the financial assistance to the families of soldiers killed and wounded during the Four-Day Artsakh War in April. Funds have been deposited in the bank accounts opened for all the families, and each freedom fighter has been granted $2,000.
