On September 15 the ROA Acting Minister of Diaspora Hranush Hagopyan hosted the Honorary Chairperson of Australia’s Armenian National Committee, benefactor Krikor Soghomonian who is in Armenia to participate in the 25th Anniversary Celebration of the Independence of Armenia.

Welcoming her guest, the Acting Minister highlighted the efforts of K. Soghomonian in properly organizing and executing the Armenian Genocide 100th anniversary commemorations in Australia.

“With your party service spanning over four decades in the Armenian National Committee office you have served the causes of preserving Armenian identity and recognition and condemnation of the Armenian Genocide”,– said HranushHakobyan.

The Minister highly praised the efforts of Mr. Soghomonian in organizing relief operations for Artsakh during the dour days’ war.

Community issues, as well as steps undertaken in the direction of resolving the Artsakh issue were discussed.
