Closing ceremony of “Diaspora” Summer School Program was held

On July 29, the Cultural Center of Yerevan State University hosted the grand closing ceremony of the Training Course for Teachers of Armenian Language and History and Organizers of Education and the Accelerated Armenian Language Course, which are part of the “Diaspora” Summer School Program of the RA Ministry of Diaspora.

RA Deputy Minister of Diaspora Vahagn Melikyan transmitted the welcoming remarks of RA Minister of Diaspora Hranush Hakobyan. Melikyan expressed gratitude to all the lecturers and professors of Yerevan State University for organizing the courses with responsibility and at a high level. He particularly attached importance to the role of the summer school program in preserving the national identity within Armenian communities of the Diaspora, raising the level of young Diaspora Armenians’ knowledge of Armenian and disseminating Armenian culture. “The “Diaspora” Summer School Program is one of the most beloved programs of the Ministry of Diaspora. Dear participants, I am certain that you are leaving the Homeland with the hope to return and that you are leaving to build a small Armenia in your respective communities,” Melikyan stated.

In his welcoming speech, Director of the “Diaspora” Summer School Program Mher Hovhannisyan emphasized that the cooperation between Yerevan State University and the RA Ministry of Diaspora is effective and that the summer school program is becoming more and more successful every year.

The Deputy Minister of Diaspora and the summer school program’s director granted certificates to the participants of the two courses.

“The participants of the “Diaspora” Summer School Program recited poems and performed the several songs and dances that they had learned during the program. The members of the YSU Cultural Center also performed during the event.
