RA Minister of Diaspora: “Only a powerful Armenia can solve the issue of recognition of Artsakh’s independence and the Armenian Genocide՞

Today, by saying the Armenian Cause, we mean three things-recognition of Artsakh, recognition and condemnation of the Armenian Genocide and empowerment of the Homeland. Only a powerful Armenia can solve the issue of recognition of Artsakh’s independence and the Armenian Genocide. This is what RA Minister of Diaspora Hranush Hakobyan said during a teleconference with representatives of the Armenian community of Sweden, according to Hayern Aysor.

The Minister emphasized the importance of the recognition of Artsakh at all levels, including by city councils and individual states. “We Armenians need to show foreigners that Artsakh has been building a democratic state for the past 25 years, while the government in Azerbaijan is the government of a clan. Azerbaijan is training terrorists at the state level. Evidence of that is the fact that Azerbaijan declared the terrorist having executed an Armenian soldier during the four-day war in April as a hero. Today, the whole world is fighting against terrorism. So, we need to call the international community’s attention to this,” the Minister of Diaspora stated and urged the representatives to raise the issue of recognition of Artsakh in Swedish cities.

In his turn, Director of the Coordinating Center of Armenian Associations of Sweden Arshak Gavafian stressed the motivation and willingness of Swedish-Armenian youth to stand by the side of the Homeland. According to him, many young Armenians of Sweden are ready to stand with Armenian soldiers in case of need.

“During the days marking the three celebrations in May, the Armenian National Committees and Offices convened a forum in Stepanakert. I was also participating in the forum, and it wasn’t by chance. When Azerbaijan was posing a threat with new military actions, we Armenians proved that we are not afraid of anything and that not only Armenia, but also the entire Armenian Diaspora stands by the side of Artsakh,” Arshak Gavafian said.
