On November 6, RA Minister of Diaspora Hranush Hakobyan received Executive Director of the Armenian Missionary Association of America Zaven Khanjian, who was accompanied by Representative of the Armenian Missionary Association of America in Armenia Harout Nercessian.

The guests expressed great satisfaction with the ceremony that the Ministry of Diaspora had organized in light of the 60^th anniversary of Haigazian University in Beirut at the National Academy of Sciences of Armenia and emphasized that the ministry’s attitude towards institutes for Armenian studies is a great help to raise the level of efficiency of their activities.

Presenting the programs carried out by the Armenian Missionary Association of America, Zaven Khanjian mentioned that the Association is currently discussing the possibilities of reconstructing the Kamp Armen Camp of Istanbul, which was regained from the Turkish authorities with great efforts. Khanjian introduced the minister to the English version of the memoirs of founder of Kamp Armen Hrant Kyuzelyan, who has also presented how the camp was created.

The minister welcomed and encouraged the intention to rebuild Kamp Armen and expressed satisfaction with the activities that the Armenian Missionary Association of America carries out in the education, cultural and healthcare sectors and particularly emphasized the great support that the Association has provided to the Syrian-Armenians.

During the meeting, the sides discussed the possibilities of implementing joint programs for preservation of the Armenian identity.
