Diaspora Armenian teachers undergoing training through “Diaspora” Summer School Program

On July 4, the participants of the Teacher Training Course (part of the “Diaspora” Summer School Program of the RA Ministry of Diaspora) were hosted by the deputy directors of Levon Shant Armenian School. Naira Arakelyan, who has been teaching for the past 19 years, was introduced to the participants of the “Education” group, asked about their activities and the problems and hardships they face in their respective communities. Swedish-Armenian teacher Harout Ekizian asked about the increase of involvement of Armenia children in Armenian schools, after which everyone engaged in a constructive discussion.

The exchange of experience was followed by a meeting with Associate Professor of the Chair of Pedagogy at Yerevan State University Arevik Ghazaryan, who held a course entitled “Basics of Educational Management”.

“A manager has to have three qualities-personal, professional and managerial. The better a manager is, the more these qualities are in harmony,” Ghazaryan stated and touched upon every quality in detail. The issues that the participants of the summer school program have encountered in their respective communities were considered through dialogues. The host of the course suggested paths for solution to conflicts that can be taken not only in work, but also in daily life.

“A teacher is a person who can keep the focus of the audience and is able to show an individual approach to every pupil at the same time. This is the most important task of a teacher,” Armine Ashikyan, representative of the course, said as she wrapped up the second day of the “Diaspora” Summer School Program.
