New symbol for Armenian Genocide awareness

A new symbol for Armenian Genocide awareness has been posted on the official website of the Armenian Catholic Patriarchate ahead of the 100th anniversary of the Armenian Genocide. As posted on the website, the Armenian letter “Ճ” (Tch) is equivalent to the number 100, according to Armenian classic numerals.

“Genocide 100” means the 100 years of damages that the Genocide caused. The color blue symbolizes the protection of the rights of victims of the Armenian Genocide, and the color orange symbolizes awareness of the Armenian Genocide.

The symbol was created by Lebanese-Armenian artist Rostom Gouyoumjian.
