On November 7, RA Minister of Diaspora Hranush Hakobyan and representatives of the partnering organizations of the Center for Coordination of Syrian-Armenians’ Issues NGO participated in an event dedicated to the 2ndanniversary of the Center for Coordination of Syrian-Armenians’ Issues NGO at the hall of the AGBU Armenia Office.
Greeting the gathered, the RA Minister of Diaspora particularly mentioned: “First, I would like to congratulate you all on the second anniversary of this organization and express my gratitude to you since you are the ones carrying out the most difficult tasks. You have accomplished your mission with honor over the past two years, and we work very harmoniously. The Center has managed to work with other organizations in the right way. I believe the Center for Coordination of Syrian-Armenians’ Issues non-governmental organization sets the best example for the functioning of civil society in Armenia. I would also like to thank the AGBU for supporting the Center from the very first day. I would like to give special thanks to all Armenian benefactors and goodwill people who extended a helping hand to our compatriots in misery. Finally, I would like to express my deep gratitude to all the Syrian-Armenians who have come to the Homeland, didn’t become refugees for the third time and are loved and respected by their employers for their diligence, devotion, sincerity and patriotism.”
On the occasion of the anniversary, the minster granted certificates of appreciation to Lena Haladjian, Alexan Karadanaian, George Barseghian, Nora Pilibbosian, Tamar Gharagyozian, Naira Edigarian, Kevork Shadoian and Sarkis Adamian for their pro-national efforts.
Representative of the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees Christoph Bierwirth gave a speech in which he congratulated the non-governmental organization on its second anniversary and expressed gratitude for the volunteerism and professionalism.
Deputy Director of the AGBU Armenia Representation Hovik Yordekyan congratulated the employees on the occasion of the second anniversary and on their fruitful efforts dedicated to the nation.
During the event, Syrian-Armenian children expressed words of gratitude for the financial assistance that the Hayastan All-Armenian Fund’s Brazil Chapter had provided to 400 Syrian-Armenian schoolchildren and performed musical numbers.
