On July 24, the first class for the young leaders within the framework of ″Diaspora″ summer school program was dedicated to ″Main problems of the Diaspora youth organizations and how to tackle these problems₺. The lecturers were the head of «Return to Armenia» NGO VardanMarshalyan and the participant of ″Diaspora″ summer school- 2012 Nina Mehrabyan, who repatriated to Armenia in 2013.
VardanMarashlyan talked about the role of the young people in the community life, attached importance to their activity in sustaining the communities, implementation of the initiatives aiming at preservation of the mother tongue and culture, etc.
Nina Mehrabyan came with her friends – AstghikNalbandyan (Saint Petersburg), SargisMargaryan (Perm) and recently repatriated ArturTashchyan (Rostov-on-Don), all the participants of the young leaders training courses in 2012, which was a surprise for the participants. The young people greeted each other, shared their impressions, emphasized the importance of implementation of such programs in establishing a link with the Homeland and returning to the Homeland
Nina Mehrabyanbriefed on the particularities of the youth organizations existingin Diaspora, the main directions, priorities and the problems thereofand the ways to tackle the latter; then she gathered the young people in the hall, asked them to make an irregular circle, standing herself in the center: the young people would present the countries of their residence and symbolize it, and Nina was representing Armenia. With the statements ″I live in Russia, but next year I will be moving to Armenia₺; ″I represent Holland; I have decided that in two years I’ll come back to the Homeland for the permanent residence″and thinks of that nature, they would approach Nina – Armenia, thus, resembling a peculiar picture of repatriation.
Let’s thank Nina: this initiative was very fascinating, impressive and psychologically influential for the participants; and this meeting of ″the former₺ and ″the present″ leaders gave rise to a new unofficial group of friends, which, indeed, will enlarge its scope, and there still would be opportunities be take pride in each of its members, as was with Nina.
