Founding President of Iran’s “Sipan” Union Norair Elsaian awarded “Ambassador of the Native Language” Medal of the RA Ministry of Diaspora

On Dec. 28, RA Minister of Diaspora Hranush Hakobyan received founding President of “Sipan” Union of Iran Norair Elsaian, the Union’s former president Serozh Sukiasian and representative of Alik Daily in Armenia Tigran Davtyan.
Throughout the 50 years of its existence, “Sipan” Union has carried out invaluable activities for the Armenian education and upbringing of Armenian youth.
Since Armenia’s declaration of independence, the Union has had strong ties with the Republic of Armenia, and the members have participated in several forums, festivals and other events held in the Homeland. With its more than 1,000 members, the Union has always protected the rights of Armenians in Tehran and has actively participated in organizing Armenian Genocide Commemoration events, as well as events dedicated to Armenian statehood and Armenia’s Independence.
Minister Hranush Hakobyan praised the pro-national activities of the meritorious educator, President of the Union Norair Elsaian and granted the “Ambassador of the Native Language” Medal of the RA Ministry of Diaspora for preservation of the Armenian language abroad, for providing notable services for the development of the Armenia-Diaspora partnership and on the occasion of the Union’s 50th anniversary.
Norair Elsaian expressed gratitude to RA Minister of Diaspora Hranush Hakobyan for the high award and mentioned that the Union has solemnly celebrated its 50th anniversary in Tehran and Los Angeles. Elsaian also mentioned that the flag that the founders of “Sipan” Union raised is now in the good hands of the new generation of Armenians who preserve the national ideas and values.
