“Ari Tun – 2014”. Meeting between the Armenians living in Ukraine and the Ukrainians living in Armenia

Within the framework of “Ari Tun” Program of the RA Ministry of Diaspora, the students of the state school adjunct to the RA Consulate in the City of Kharkov, Ukraine, under the supervision of the Director of the School MetaksiaAvagyan visited Armenia.

Recently, they met with the representatives of the Ukrainian community in Armenia, thus initiating a unique cooperation between the Armenians living in the Ukraine and the Ukrainians living in Armenia. An agreement has been reached to organize a joint event with participation of the pupils of the Armenian Educational-Cultural Center after H. Altunyan and the dance groups ran within the Ukrainian community in Armenia.

During the meeting, the Head of the Ukrainian community in Armenia Anna Harutyunyanand  the Chairwoman of “Yunist” Ukranian Youth NGO in Armenia Mary Tiratsuyan, greeted the participants of “Ari Tun” program and presented the activity of their organizations.

The Director of the State school adjunct to the RA Consulate in the City of Kharkov, Ukraine, stressed, in his speech, the importance of the cooperation with the Ministry of Diaspora and stated that the pupils of the school are each year participating in the Ministry’s programs: “This year, 18 pupils have participated in “My Armenia” Program and 14 pupils – in “Ari Tun” program, with two participants being of Ukrainian nationality;  another participant, Erik Brutyan, is in Armenia to be enlistedin the Armenian Army” -saidMetaksiaAvagyan. Besides, she rated the meeting with the representatives of the Ukrainian community in Armenia as the beginning of cooperation and a great opportunity for exchange ofexperience.

At the end of the meeting, the program participants shared their impressions from Armenia.  Ukrainian Tania, being rebaptizedRusannaby the Armenian children, said that she admires the Armenian dances and will take with her warm and vivid memories from Armenia.
