Minister of Diaspora receives Very Rev. Harutyun Selimyan

On June 28, Minister of Diaspora Mkhitar Hayrapetyan received leader of the Armenian Evangelical Community of Syria, the Very Rev. Harutyun Selimyan.
Congratulating Mkhitar Hayrapetyan on being appointed to the office of Minister of Diaspora, the Very Rev. Harutyun Selimyan expressed willingness to support Armenia and contribute to the strengthening of Armenia-Diaspora relations and effective cooperation. “There is positivity and an atmosphere for transparency in Armenia following the revolution. Both Armenia and the Diaspora have expectations from the relations between Armenia and the Diaspora where partnership and mutual use of resources must be primary,” the leader of the Armenian Evangelical Community of Syria stated.
Agreeing with the guest’s views, Minister Mkhitar Hayrapetyan emphasized that the Velvet Revolution became first and foremost a revolution of transformation of the individual, love, tolerance and smiles. Touching upon the work with the Diaspora, the Minister noted that there also has to be a revolution in the relations between Armenia and the Diaspora through a change of the quality of work and communication.
“There will no longer be discrimination. The Ministry of Diaspora must represent the interests and rights of each and every Armenian in the world,” Mkhitar Hayrapetyan stressed.
At the end, the sides discussed issues related to future cooperation.
