Hungarian-Armenian participant of 2017 “Ari Tun” Program: “Whenever I sing with my friends, I feel like a small part of a big Armenian family”

Hanna Abgaryan, 17, is from Hungary and is visiting Armenia for the first time through the “Ari Tun” Program of the Ministry of Diaspora of the Republic of Armenia. Abgaryan shared her impressions in an interview with Hayern Aysor.

Hanna Abgaryan: I learned about the “Ari Tun” Program during one of the events organized by the Armenian community in Hungary and decided to participate. I was born in Hungary and speak Hungarian at home, and this program provided me with the opportunity to visit Armenia and learn Armenian. I loved Armenia a lot. Everything here – the sites, monuments and monasteries – are so beautiful, and the people make the country much more beautiful.

I enjoyed every moment of the Program, but I especially enjoyed the days that we spent at the camp. Whenever I sing with my friends, I feel Armenian and like a small part of a big Armenia family. The participants are so kind and friendly that I made friends with most of them in a matter of days. When I return to Hungary, I will definitely tell my friends about the “Ari Tun” Program and encourage them to participate. I thank everyone who did everything possible to make sure we have a nice time in the homeland.”
