RA Ministry of Diaspora hosts Armenia’s representative at Eurovision Song Contest 2017 Artsvik Harutyunyan
Minister of Diaspora of the Republic of Armenia Hranush Hakobyan received Artsvik Harutyunyan, who will be representing Armenia at Eurovision Song Contest 2017.
Greeting the guest, the Minister stressed the fact that a compatriot from the Armenian Diaspora would be representing Armenia at the international song contest once again and particularly stated the following: “I am glad that a Diaspora Armenian will be representing Armenia once again. Artsvik was born in Armenia, but spent most of her life in Russia where she grew as a singer and managed to become a famous cultural figure in Russia. It should also be noted that Artsvik will be representing Armenia, and this says a lot about her patriotism and love for Armenian culture. I want her to shine at Eurovision so that all Armenians take pride in her victory, and I am certain that they will.”
Head of the Armenian Delegation to Eurovision Song Contest Gohar Gasparyan expressed gratitude for the cooperation and added that the relations between the Delegation and the Ministry of Diaspora had become stronger.
Artsvik Harutyunyan added that it had been her dream to perform at Eurovision Song Contest. She assured that it was a great responsibility and that she would do everything possible to keep the honor of Armenia high.
Let us mention that Kiev will be hosting Eurovision Song Contest 2017 on 9 May, 11 May and 13 May. Armenia’s representative will perform during the first semi-final on 9 May. Among the other representatives in the first semi-final will be the representatives of Montenegro, Finland, Georgia, Portugal, Belgium, Sweden, Albania, Australia, Azerbaijan, Cyprus, Slovenia, Moldova, the Czech Republic, Latvia, Iceland, Greece and Poland. The second semi-final (11 May) will feature performances by the representatives of Germany, France, Ukraine, Macedonia, Malta, the Netherlands, Serbia, Denmark, Russia, Romania, Hungary, Austria, Ireland, Switzerland, Estonia, Israel, Bulgaria, San Marino, Lithuania, Croatia, Norway and Belarus. Overall, there are 43 countries participating in Eurovision Song Contest 2017.
The slogan for Eurovision Song Contest 2017 is “Celebrate Diversity”, which builds on last year’s slogan “Come Together”. The slogan “Celebrate Diversity” is a call to European and other countries to come together and celebrate the similarities and unique differences and enjoy wonderful music.
