Sibil releases new song devoted to Diaspora Armenians
On February 28, RA Minister of Diaspora Hranush Hakobyan received famous Istanbul-Armenian singer Sibil Pektorosoglu.
Greeting the guest, the Minister appreciated the courage and sincerity of the singer that is characteristic of an Armenian, as well as her dedication to Armenian culture and song. The Minister particularly touched upon the fact that Sibil sings Armenian songs in perfect Armenian, the exclusively Armenian-language songs and asked about the singer’s future plans.
Expressing gratitude for the cordial reception, the Istanbul-Armenian singer stated that she had recently recorded a new song devoted to Diaspora Armenians and that there would be a music video for the song. “My homeland that is more desirable than a fairy tale, I will become a song in your centuries-old history, I will sing you”-these are some of the words from the song that the singer cited.
Sibil became popular with her renditions of the Armenian songs “Tesnem Anin oo Nor Mernem” (To See Ani and Then Die), “Ays Gisher” (Tonight), “Mer Lezoon” (Our Language), “Namak” (Letter) and other songs.
