Syrian-Armenian doctor continues his charity programs in Armenia

Doctor of medical sciences, surgeon, author of several medical books, founding President of the Armenian Christian Medical Association (ACMA), Dr. Johnny Hatdat is in Armenia once again.
Every two to three times a year, the Syrian-Armenian doctor comes and performs surgeries at various medical institutions in Armenia and in Nagorno-Karabakh. During his one-week stay, the doctor is managing to conduct checkups for up to 100 patients and perform surgeries, if necessary.
Dr. Hatdat is on his 38th visit to Armenia. During this visit, Johnny Hatdat paid another visit to Gyumri where he performed 50 various kinds of surgeries on September 22nd, 23rd and 24th. Prior to that, he had conducted over 200 consultations. This time, residents of different villages of Shirak Province, but also the villages of Lori and the Armenian-populated villages of Armenia’s neighboring Georgia had come for surgeries and consultations. As always, the patients were people suffering from hernias, hemorrhoids, goiter, cancer and other problems. The doctor performs any surgery with a little opening, allowing the patient to be checked out of the hospital on the same day or a day later.
Since 2000, making frequent visits to Armenia to perform free surgeries and provide medical assistance has been a principle of life for the doctor, but the story behind this is rather long and traces back to the devastating earthquake of 1988 when the doctor was working in Kuwait.
