RA Ministry of Diaspora hosts Armenian American benefactors, Mr. and Mrs. Anushavan and Ofik Abrahamyans
RA Acting Minister of Diaspora Hranush Hakobyan received Armenian American benefactor Anushavan Abrahamyan and his wife, Ofik Abrahamyan.
Hranush Hakobyan cordially greeted the guests and praised the educational program that the Anushavan and Ofik Abrahamyans Foundation is carrying out in Armenia’s provinces. Through the program, the Foundation has fully renovated secondary vocational schools and created 64 studios for sewing, design, hairdressing, cosmetics, construction, carpentry, food and service, as well as computer service and training courses in Armenia’s provinces. Hranush Hakobyan particularly stated the following: “Dear Mr. and Mrs. Abrahamyans, you have made great contributions to the proportionate development of Armenia, the vocational education of the youth of the provinces, the revitalization of life in the provinces and are active members of the Armenian American community. We many other Diaspora Armenians follow in your footsteps, creating jobs in all sectors of the Homeland and contributing to the proportionate development of the spheres of economy, science, education and culture in Armenia.”
Anushavan Abrahamyan expressed gratitude for the cordial reception and attached importance to the cooperation with Armenia’s state and non-governmental organizations and educational institutions. He stated that the Foundation’s activities would be ongoing. “We were very happy to be in the Homeland this time of the year because we proudly participated in the opening ceremonies of the robot construction and computer programming studios in nine provinces of Armenia. The goal of the Foundation is to provide high-quality education to the young people of Armenia, especially the young people in Armenia’s villages who come from socially disadvantaged families. I am certain that our alumni will obtain jobs, live in the homeland and maintain their Armenian families in their respective provinces. The Foundation also offers training courses for teachers and provides books and supporting materials to the young people of socially disadvantaged people. I try to live a modest life, and it is a pleasure for me to make a small contribution to the development of my homeland and carry out certain kinds of programs, not live a lavish life. My inheritors will continue my job. I have told my three daughters that they must continue and enhance the program for the generations to come.”
The sides discussed issues on carrying out new investment programs in Armenia, providing jobs for young people having received an education and gained experience at intermediate vocational institutions through the program, expanding the Foundation’s program and engaging new sectors.
