Antranig Boghosian: “Keeping the doors of the Armenian school open is a national and human duty for me”

On August 24, RA Minister of Diaspora Hranush Hakobyan received Director of the Sarkis Chemberjian Krtasirats Secondary School, member of the provincial assembly of Syria Antranig Boghosian and representative of the Krtasirats Cultural Union and School of Aleppo in Armenia Alexan Karadanaian.

Minister Hranush Hakobyan cordially welcomed the guests and appreciated their pro-national activities for preservation of the Armenian community in Syria. “By maintaining the Armenian school in those difficult conditions in Syria, you are truly committing a heroic act. Of course, your safety is above everything else, but it is very important to preserve the community and educate the young generation. I take pride in the fact that there are people like you who live with the love for the Homeland and the nation and serve the Homeland and the nation,” the Minister particularly stated.

Antranig Boghosian expressed gratitude for the cordial reception and the words of appreciation. Touching upon the problems of the Armenians in Syria, he emphasized the following: “Your words are weighty for us. You are the one who is the closest to us and the one whom we rely on. Keeping the doors of the Armenian school open is a national and human duty for me. I am happy that I am able to help our children with not only their education, but also with their daily problems. I am happy to be able to fulfill my duty.”

During the meeting, the sides discussed the current situation in Syria, the problems of the Armenian community and the future actions.
