Representations of the Pan-Armenian Association of Architects and Engineers (PAAE) hold third meeting at the RA Ministry of Diaspora

On September 23, the Pan-Armenian Association of Architects and Engineers held its third meeting at the RA Ministry of Diaspora. The meeting was held with the participation of RA Acting Minister of Diaspora Hranush Hakobyan and moderated by co-chair Kohar Tutunjian. The members of the Association’s chapters in Egypt, Qatar and Turkey were participating in the meeting via a long distance connection.

The items on the agenda were the signing of a memorandum of cooperation between the Pan-Armenian Association of Architects and Engineers and the Technological University of Shushi, the information of the chapters’ coordinators participating in the meeting about the activities that had been carried out, as well as the presentation of the new logo for the Association and other current issues.

Greeting the participants of the meeting, Acting Minister Hranush Hakobyan congratulated them on the 25th anniversary of Independence of the Republic of Armenia and talked about the major achievements that had been made over the past 25 years. She also expressed satisfaction with the activities of the Pan-Armenian Association of Architects and Engineers, which has its chapters in 12 countries and carries out all-encompassing activities to use the potential of Diaspora Armenian architects to help Armenia develop. Hranush Hakobyan cordially greeted Deputy Rector of the Technological University of Shushi, renowned chess player Rafayel Vahanyan, whose educational institution will be carrying out joint activities with the Association.

Expressing gratitude to Hranush Hakobyan  for the reception and for supporting their efforts, Kohar Tutunjian presented the memorandum of cooperation to be signed between the Pan-Armenian Association of Architects and Engineers and the Technological University of Shushi, the purpose of which is to consolidate the potential of Armenian professionals of Armenia, Artsakh and the Diaspora and use it effectively, prepare specialists, exchange experience and information, as well as carry out joint research, advocacy efforts and other major activities.

Executive Director of the Pan-Armenian Association of Architects and Engineers Arpine Danielyan delivered a report on the activities carried out after the signing of the memorandum and informed that the Association has already created a rather rich database that the Association’s chapters are gradually expanding. She also informed that cooperation programs will also be carried out with the French Higher Institute of Engineering n Armenia.

Afterwards, coordinator of the Egypt Chapter Nayiri Hampigian, coordinator of the Turkey Chapter Jean Gavrilof, Co-Chair of the Pan-Armenian Association of Architects and Engineers Vahe Tutunjian (Qatar) presented via long distance connection the activities that they had carried out. The coordinators and the co-chair carry out extremely valuable activities for the compilation and inventory of Armenian architectural monuments and other samples of cultural heritage in their respective countries of residence.

The meeting ended with the presentation of the logo symbolizing the Armenia-Artsakh-Diaspora triumvirate made through a sketch by painter Gabriel Manukyan (Gabo), and the large-scale copies of the logo were donated to the RA Ministry of Diaspora and the Technological University of Shushi.
