RA Ministry of Diaspora held presentation of book by Israeli-Armenian poet Anush Naggashian

On October 16, the RA Ministry of Diaspora held the presentation of Israeli-Armenian poet Anush Naggashian’s book of poems for children entitled “I Am Armenian” at Khnko-Apor Library in Yerevan.

The event began with welcoming remarks by RA Deputy Minister of Diaspora, literary critic, candidate of philological sciences Serzh Srapionyan, who praised Naggashian’s poems and mentioned: “Anush is expressing new thoughts with this small collection of poems for children. RA Minister of Diaspora Hranush Hakobyan praises Anush’s poems and has already assigned to translate them from Western Armenian into Eastern Armenian in order to make the poems available to Eastern Armenians as well.”

The deputy minister added that with this collection of poems for children entitled “I Am Armenian”, Anush Naggashian is also introducing Armenian children of the Diaspora to the Homeland.

Head of the Department of Armenian Literature at Yerevan State University, Doctor of Philological Sciences, Professor Samvel Muradyan set aside the poet’s exceptional talent of speaking to children in a language that they understand.

As an author of several collections of poems for children, acting President of the Union of Writers of Armenia Eduard Militonyan mentioned that there is a need for good children’s writers and that Anush Naggashian fills the gap.

At the end, Anush Naggashian expressed her gratitude to the RA Ministry of Diaspora for supporting her since the very first days of its establishment and recited some of her poems.
