The opening of the exhibition showcasing the top works of fine arts submitted for the contest declared by the RA Ministry of Diaspora, the World Armenian Congress, the Union of Armenians of Russia and the Union of Artists of Armenia was held at the Union of Artists of Armenia on October 9. The event included the solemn opening of the exhibition-sale of paintings donated by Armenian painters for the construction of the “New Aleppo” district.

RA Minister of Diaspora Hranush Hakobyan, President of the World Armenian Congress and Union of Armenians of Russia Ara Abrahamyan, Vice-Presidents Vladimir Aghayan and Aram Sargsyan and President of the Union of Artists of Armenia Karen Aghamyan attended the event.

Minister Hranush Hakobyan commended the Diaspora Armenian artists’ participation in the exhibition.

Ara Abrahamyan expressed gratitude to the RA Ministry of Diaspora for effective cooperation in organizing pan-Armenian awards ceremonies.

The exhibition showcased nearly 300 works. The best works will be selected by a commission created to sum up the results. Proceeds from the sale of paintings donated by Armenian painters for the construction of the “New Aleppo” district will go to the fund created for that purpose.

The gathered toured the exhibition hall and got acquainted with the painters’ works.
