RA Minister of Diaspora congratulated “Arev” Armenian Regional Cultural Community of Astrakhan on its 25th anniversary

On June 26, 2016, the “Arev” Armenian Regional Cultural Community of Astrakhan celebrated its 25th anniversary with a splendid event held at the local Young Spectators’ Theater. During the event, the awards of the Ministry of Education and Science of the Russian Federation were granted to the Armenians who have contributed to the formation and growth of the Armenian community.
As reported Hayern Aysor, RA Minister of Diaspora Hranush Hakobyan sent a video message on the occasion, and this was a big and pleasant surprise for the participants of the event.
“The Armenian community of Astrakhan has a very long history. The Armenians settled here in the 14th century. The community was so well organized that the charter of the community was approved by the Russian czar of the time. This goes to show the power and solidarity of the community. Today, after all these years, you continue the traditions of our forefathers and have become a strong and beautiful bridge between Russia and Armenia,” the Minister of Diaspora said in her congratulatory message.
