New billboard placed in the U.S. with words “Truth vs. National Interest”

The “Peace of Art” organization has placed a large digital billboard in Foxborough, Massachusetts, expressing gratitude to Germany for recognizing the Armenian Genocide, as reported Heghine Gevorgyan to Hayern Aysor.

With the words “Truth vs. National Interest”, the billboard features the national flag of Germany on one side, and the U.S. Capitol dome on the other. The dome is where U.S. Senators and members of the House of Representatives gather to debate and discuss domestic and political issues.

In his speech, founding president of “Peace of Art” organization Daniel Varoujan Hejinian said the following: “On behalf of our organization, we express gratitude to Germany for recognizing the Armenian Genocide and call on the U.S. government to wake up and avoid the Ostrich policy and not subordinate the image of the nation for commercial interests. Being an ally to the Ottoman Empire during WWI, imperialist Germany had its share of the blame as it encouraged the perpetration of the Armenian Genocide and justified the unmatched crime against humanity. In 1918, Ambassador of Imperial Germany to Constantinople Hans Freiher von Vangenheim said the following in an interview: “I don’t condemn the Turks. What they are doing with the Armenians is completely justified.” This justification probably drove Hitler to organize the massive annihilation and incineration of the Jews in 1939.”

Today recognition of the Armenian Genocide by Germany was the response to the statement “Who, after all, speaks today of the annihilation of the Armenians?” that Adolf Hitler made over half a century ago.
