Two German couples have transferred their wealth to Hayastan All-Armenian Fund according to their wills
The Armenian community of Germany is not too large, compared to the Armenian communities in Germany’s neighboring countries. There are nearly 40,000 Armenians living in Germany, but they are quite active in the solutions to issues of national concern and are ready to stand with the Homeland, if necessary.
Evidence of that are the several charity events that the Hayastan All-Armenian Fund Germany Chapter has organized, and over the past years, those events have been mainly aimed at supporting Syrian-Armenians and presenting the Armenian Cause in Germany. This is what Chair of Hayastan All-Armenian Fund’s German affiliate Gilbert Momdjian told Hayern Aysor.
What’s interesting is that not only the Armenians, but also the Germans want to help Armenia via the Fund. “It is safe to say that today, 35 percent of our contributors are Germans. There is another thing that is pleasant and amazing. This year, two German couples stated in their wills that they were going to transfer their wealth to the Fund,” Gilbert Momdjian said.
Momdjian also considers the discussion on the Armenian Genocide Resolution in the German Bundestag on 2 June a major achievement for the Armenians of Germany. According to him, over the past few months, this topic has served as an opportunity for several reputable newspapers to write about Armenia and the Armenians. “This is an opportunity for those who have never even heard about Armenia and Artsakh to know about us. Generally speaking, it is safe to say that the Armenians today are a very beloved nation for the Germans,” Gilbert Momdjian concluded.
