Belgium’s Mesrop Mashtots Union to support the families of 3 deceased soldiers

The Mesrop Mashtots Union of the Belgian city of Liège organized a fundraiser to support the families of Armenian soldiers killed during the four-day war that Azerbaijan provoked in early April, as reported President of the Union Lusine Nersisyan to Hayern Aysor from Belgium.

With the support of the Armenian community and the Union and with the active participation of the fundraiser’s organizer Gaiane Sargsyan, the Armenian communities of Liège, Bilzen and Tongeren raised 1,200 Euros. After the fundraiser, it was decided to provide 400 Euros in assistance to each of the families of three deceased soldiers, including Aram Abrahamyan (Artimed village of Armavir Province), Adam Sahakyan (Yerevan) and Manvel Gevorgyan (Yerevan).

The raised funds will be transferred to the families. Representative of the Mesrop Mashtots Union in Armenia Varduhi Zakaryan is coordinating the efforts in Armenia.

“Of course, such initiatives are commendable, especially when they are organized by Diaspora Armenians since such initiatives make them feel at ease abroad,” Varduhi Zakaryan stated in a conversation with Hayern Aysor.
