Zarmig Boghigian: “The victory in Shushi is the ?lighthouse’ of our struggle”

The liberation of Shushi changed the state of mind of Armenians in Armenia and the Diaspora. It enshrined the faith of the Armenian people to liberate the native land, defend their right to self-determination through a unified struggle and prosper within a free homeland by relying on their own strengths.

Our heroes fighting in Artsakh defeated the enemy with more soldiers and arms and ammunition because they were fighting for their right and the liberation of the native land, while the enemy was attacking in order to eliminate our nation, take away its right to self-determination and dominate our historic homeland with expansionism and hirelings.

This is why victories are conditioned by not only weapons or military forces, but also the fighting spirit and the persistent faith in fighting for preservation of the Armenian land and sanctities.

Victory is important, but maintaining that victory is as important and even more.

As the enemy continues to pose a threat to our country and people with its expansionist ambitions by even using extreme terrorist hirelings and tries to lead the process of negotiation to failure with the complexity of defeat and the with the hope of mere concessions during these crucial days of the struggle for Artsakh, we need to use the potential of all Armenians to maintain and enshrine the victory of Shushi and Artsakh, without any concessions, but by supporting:

-the army of Artsakh

-the international recognition of Artsakh

-the economic empowerment of Artsakh

-the redevelopment o the plans for resettlement.

Alongside all this, we need to use all the diplomatic and advocacy measures to have the international community condemn Azerbaijan’s policy of attack.

The victory in Shushi is evidence of the invincibility of our nation that is capable of leading a struggle, and Shushi is the ?lighthouse’ of our struggle.
