RA Minister of Diaspora Hranush Hakobyan receives Armenian American writer Anna Astvatsaturian-Turcotte

RA Minister of Diaspora Hranush Hakobyan received member of Westbrook City Council (USA) and Armenian American writer Anna Astvatsaturian-Turcotte, who is in Armenia to participate in the 2nd “Against the Crime of Genocide” Global Forum taking place in Yerevan.
Greeting the guest, the Minister praised Astvatsaturian-Turcotte’s contributions to the strengthening of Armenia-Diaspora relations, preservation of the Armenian identity, as well as the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict and issues related to human rights and refugees.
The Minister particularly appreciated Anna Astvatsaturian’s efforts in the fields of law and politics that have contributed to recognition of the independence of the Nagorno-Karabakh Republic by the State of Maine.
Expressing gratitude for the cordial reception, Anna Astvatsaturian emphasized the importance of such forums and stated that they serve as a major platform for prevention of genocides and crimes against humanity.
The sides also touched upon the situation created as a result of Azerbaijan’s recent military aggression and discussed the effectiveness of the events held by the Armenian American community.
