RA Minister of Diaspora Hranush Hakobyan visits US Eastern Diocese

On April 1, RA Minister of Diaspora Hranush Hakobyan, who is on a working visit to New York, visited the Prelacy of the US Eastern Diocese of the Armenian Apostolic Church where she was received by Primate of the Diocese, Father Archbishop Khazhak Parsamian.

Head of the Prelacy Armen Baiburtian, Director of the Office of Fund for Armenian Relief in New York Karnig Nanagoulian and Vicar of the Prelacy, Father Simeon Odabashian were attending the meeting.

Primate of the Diocese, Father Archbishop Khazhak Parsamian provided Hayern Aysor‘s correspondent with details about the meeting.

In the beginning, His Holiness told Minister of Diaspora Hranush Hakobyan about the activities that the US Eastern Diocese had carried out throughout the year marking the Centennial of the Armenian Genocide and provided details about all the events and initiatives that had been held to support the Syrian-Armenians.

Greeting the attendees, Hranush Hakobyan talked about the cognitive, scientific, educational and cultural programs of the RA Ministry of Diaspora and called on the attendees to have the Armenian community of America show active participation in those programs. Afterwards, the Minister talked about the assistance that the Government of the Republic of Armenia has provided to Syrian-Armenians in Armenia.

“In the practical sense, it was a very effective meeting. We discussed various issues, exchanged views on future cooperation and expressed willingness to implement that cooperation,” His Holiness said in an interview with Hayern Aysor, adding: “Minister Hranush Hakobyan said the atmosphere at the Prelacy was so warm that it was as if she was at home. That is truly the case since the Prelacy is the home of all Armenians around the world.”
