Turkish-American organizations have united to fight against international recognition of the Armenian Genocide

Over 150 Turkish-American organizations have established the Turkish American National Steering Committee (TASC), which has set a goal to fight against international recognition of the Armenian Genocide, writes Ermenihaber.am.

As reports the Turkish Sabah, the statement of the TASC mentions that the Committee’s goal is to inform the American public and show “the historical truth” about the Armenian Genocide.

The statement also mentions that one of the Committee’s goals is to help increase the Turks’ engagement in American politics, society, economy and culture, help the US government realize Turkey’s strategic importance and form positive views on Turkey within the American society.

The founders of the Committee are Ibrahim Uyar, Gyunay Ovunc, Derya Tashkin, Murat Gyuzel and others.

On March 18, Turkey held the Gallipoli celebrations, which were intentionally moved to April 24th last year.
