Presentation of book “The Armenian Genocide: 100 Years of Silence” in Rome

On December 16, the Embassy of Armenia in Italy hosted the presentation of the book “The Armenian Genocide: 100 Years of Silence” (Il Genocidio Armeno: 100 Anni di Silenzio”) in Rome, reports the RA MFA press service.

The book was published this year through the combined efforts of the Embassy of the Republic of Armenia in Italy and “Assadaka” Italo-Arab and Mediterranean Center. The book is by Alessandro Aramou, Anna Mazzone and Gian Micalessin.

The event was moderated by journalist and publicist Naman Tarca. President of “Assadaca” Italo-Arab and Mediterranean Center Raimond Schiavone; two of the book’s authors, Alessandro Aramou and Anna Mazzone and photographer Romolo Eucalito presented the book and delivered speeches devoted to the Armenian Genocide.

They talked about their visit to Armenia and their meetings with last eyewitnesses of the Armenian Genocide and touched upon Turkey’s denial. They also attached importance to the implementation of educational programs devoted to genocides, including the Armenian Genocide at public educational institutions of Italy, considering it a necessary component for the prevention of future genocides.

Students, public and political figures, as well as members of the local Armenian community and mass media representatives were attending the event.
