Solemn closing ceremony of 8th and final stage of the 2015 “Ari Tun” Program was held
The solemn closing ceremony of the 8th and final stage of the 2015 “Ari Tun” Program of the RA Ministry of Diaspora for homeland recognition was held at the “Ari Tun” Camp in Tsaghkadzor on August 28 at 18:00. The event was attended by RA Deputy Minister of Diaspora Serzh Srapionyan, as well as guests and employees of the RA Ministry of Diaspora.
RA Deputy Minister of Diaspora Serzh Srapionyan transmitted RA Minister of Diaspora Hranush Hakobyan’s welcome speech and particularly mentioned the following: “Dear participants, I cordially express my greetings to you all. The “Ari Tun” Program is a program that not only helps preserve the Armenian identity, but also helps the participants recognize the homeland. During these past 14 days, you received in-depth knowledge about your Homeland, as well as its rich culture and traditions. Remember the message of President of the Republic of Armenia Serzh Sargsyan, that is, to always speak Armenian at home! That is the only condition for preserving the Armenian identity. It was good that you came to the Homeland. We’ll impatiently wait for your next arrival as Armenians with great merit.”
The deputy minister reminded the participants of the “Ari Tun” Program that they had recited the words “Wherever I may be, I won’t forget our songs of tragedy”, which are the words of a “prayer” from poet Yeghishe Charents’s poem “To My Sweet Armenia” and added that today, unlike the time of Charents, we Armenians are living in the century of victories and must never forget “the songs of victory of the Armenians”.
Afterwards, the participants performed Armenian national songs and dances that they had rehearsed during their days at the camp. Singer Anahit Sahakyan also greeted the participants with her songs.
The end of the final stage was marked by the traditional farewell bonfire.
Let us mention that the eighth stage of the program was held with the participation of nearly 65 young Armenians from 12 countries around the world, including the Russian Federation, Ukraine, Belarus, France, Poland, Great Britain, Bulgaria, Estonia, Romania, the USA, Syria and Lebanon.
