Courses of “Diaspora” Summer School Program kick off

The courses for Diaspora Armenian journalists, choirmasters and directors of dance groups, the master classes for dance instructors and the courses for young Diaspora Armenian leaders kicked off as part of the “Diaspora” Summer School Program of the RA Ministry of Diaspora on July 21.
The courses have brought together 77 Diaspora Armenians from 13 countries, including Georgia, Ukraine, Russia, Belarus, Iran, Belgium, Germany, France, Kuwait, Lebanon, Syria, the USA and Kazakhstan.
The “Diaspora” Summer School Program kicked off on July 10 with the Accelerated Armenian Language Course and the Training Course for Armenian Language Teachers and Organizers of Education of Armenian Schools in the Diaspora, and the Course for Armenian Community Activists will kick off on July 27.
Head of the Department of All-Armenian Programs at the RA Ministry of Diaspora Gagik Gyanjumyan transmitted RA Minister of Diaspora Hranush Hakobyan’s welcome speech to the participants.
On behalf of the administration of Yerevan State University, Deputy Director of the YSU Institute for Armenian Studies Mher Hovhannisyan expressed gratitude to the RA Ministry of Diaspora for holding the “Diaspora” Summer School Program with the YSU and voiced hope that the courses would be effective this year as well.
Director of the “Diaspora” Summer School Program Kamo Atayan mentioned that the program serves as a wonderful opportunity for the participants to not only improve their professional knowledge, but also combine the pleasant and the helpful to see and recognize the homeland and get to know each other.
Dean of the YSU Faculty of Journalism Naghash Martirosyan expressed gratitude and recalled the 5th Pan-Armenian Forum of Journalists held in Artsakh in 2010 during which the idea of creating the “Diaspora” Summer School Program was approved by the suggestion of RA Minister of Diaspora Hranush Hakobyan and was later implemented.
The Dean of the Faculty of Journalism urged the journalists participating in the training courses to also write about their impressions of Armenia parallel to the courses.
