An exceptional son of the Armenian nation, a brilliant individual and one of the greats of the Armenian Diaspora and the Armenian nation Kirk Kerkorian has passed away.

Living with difficulties and deprivations during his childhood and teenage years, Kirk Kerkorian managed to make unforgettable achievements and reach the peak of glory thanks to the spirit of the nation and his unbreakable will. He truly became a living legend and a stronghold during the devastating earthquake in Armenia and during the difficult years of the economic crisis and blockade. His insight and active efforts helped him create the Lincy Foundation, which carried out several projects, including the renovation of roads and the reconstruction of schools, kindergartens and cultural institutions. However, our modest and silent compatriot never agreed to have any street, school or cultural center named after him, something that citizens of Armenia wanted to do as a token of appreciation and as an expression of love.

The loss is severe, but there is no doubt that everything that Kirk Kerkorian did for Armenia and the Armenian people became the symbol of his immortality. His name was written in gold letters in the history of the Armenian people, under the condition of never ever being erased. With his lifestyle, he conveyed to the world, mankind and all Armenians that “what remains is all that a person has done in his lifetime.”
