“Ari Tun” Program participants hosted in Davitashen district
The Davitashen district of Yerevan hosted the participants of the “Ari Tun” Program on July 6th.
First, the participants had a meeting with head of the district Ruslan Baghdasaryan, who greeted the participants and expressed his wishes for the Diaspora Armenian youth.
Afterwards, the program participants took part in a cognitive tour of Davitashen district.
They visited the monument to two-time world chess champion Tigran Petrosyan and headed towards Holy Martyrs Church where they attended a Divine Liturgy.
The Diaspora Armenian participants were greeted by Priest Khoren, who introduced them to the history of the church and urged the youth to stay true to the Armenian identity and preserve the Armenian language and traditions.
Later, the participants visited the monument in memory of the victims of the Great Patriotic War and the heroic battle for Artsakh.
Correspondent of the “Ari Tun” Program in the Davitashen district, Head of the Division for Education, Culture and Sport at the district council Tigran Galstyan introduced the youth to the heroic past of the freedom fighters who died in the war and sacrificed their lives to defend the homeland.
The cognitive tour ended with a visit to the monument dedicated to the 1,700th anniversary of Christianity.
At the end of the day, a reception was held for the youth by the head of the district at the central park.
As the participants of the “Ari Tun” Program return, they will take with them not only the warmth of the homeland, but the love and hospitality of their fellow Armenians as well.
