Giragos Gouyoumdjian: “It is my duty to do everything I can for my nation and my Homeland”
On June 28, RA Minister of Diaspora Hranush Hakobyan received Kuwait-based Aleppo-Armenian businessman, writer and publicist Giragos Gouyoumdjian.
The Minister attached importance to Gouyoumdjian’s pro-national activities within the Armenian community of Kuwait and in the Homeland and particularly touched upon the well-known businessman’s charity programs and his active career as a publicist.
Issues related to preservation of the Armenian identity abroad and the need for providing young Armenians with an Armenian education were considered, and the sides touched upon revitalization of the partnership with the Ministry of Diaspora.
Giragos Gouyoumdjian donated his books “Recovery 100 Years After the Genocide” and “Stations and Positions” and several articles that have been published in Armenian and Arabic.
He expressed gratitude for the meeting and stated that the Ministry is working quite actively in order to consolidate Diaspora Armenians and keep the spirit of patriotism strong. “The Ministry of Diaspora is close to my heart, and your work is very important for me. It is my duty to do everything I can for my nation and my Homeland,” he added.
