Two large signs with Forget-me-not flowers posted on the frontal of Marseilles Municipality building

According to Nouvelles d’Armenie, the two large signs with Forget-me-not flowers have been posted on the frontal of the building of Marseilles Municipality. The signs were unveiled during a ceremony attended by Mayor of Marseilles Jean Claude-Gaudin, Mayor of Nice Christian Estrosi, French MP Valery Buaye, Member of the European Parliament Reno Muselie, Deputy Mayor of Marseilles Didier Parakian and others, Artsakhpress reports.

In his speech, Jean Claude-Gaudin reminded that he was one of the people who led the struggle for France’s recognition of the Armenian Genocide in 2001. He also reflected on Valery Buaye’s bill criminalizing denial of the Armenian Genocide and called on continuing the struggle for the adoption of a new law that will correspond to the French Constitution. Gaudin also urged the Turks to refresh their memories and recognize the Armenian Genocide, to which the attendees gave warm rounds of applause. Throughout the coming month, there will be colors symbolizing the Centennial of the Armenian Genocide in all parts of Marseilles.
